چکیده

As the level of distribution of resources in a shop floor grows, the development of control software for distributed shop floor control is of significant interest. Since hand-woven control software is expensive and difficult to reconfigure, a formal methodology that supports generating control software rapidly is in need of exploitation. Although a number of approaches to formal specification and development methodologies on such purposes have been presented, their contexts do not focus on distributed shop floor control. Consequently, they lack integrity between specification and development methodologies. The objective of the dissertation is to propose a methodology to generate a distributed SFCS rapidly from the formal model-based control software specification. Specifically, the set of XMLbased formal models are proposed to specify the control software functions and processes. Concepts, syntaxes, and semantics are identified for the set of formal models including the resource specification model, the resource relationship model, the monitoring-execution model, and the decision-making model. The results of formal modeling are stored as XML documents, which will play an instrumental role in bringing about a rapid generation of control software. The specification tool required for the seamless transition from the formal models into control software is proposed for the specification of control software. The specification tool is used to rapidly construct and validate the formal models, which are then translated into executable codes via the generation tool. The methodologies are also investigated and proposed for each tool to be

Control Architecture for Reconfigurable and Distributed Manufacturing System

Control systems for conventional manufacturing systems are designed based on division in scope and control problems organized into hierarchical levels such as, enterprise control, factory control, and shop-floor control. However, currently manufacturing systems must assure integration and reconfiguration flexibility characteristics, i.e., a reconfigurable manufacturing system must collaborate e...

Petri-net-based rapid development of a task execution module of equipment controller for distributed shop floor control

Although many conceptual structures for shop ¯oor control have been proposed, their implementation methodologies have not been satisfactorily achieved yet due to the cost and time required for developing new control software and modifying the existing software. This paper suggests a Petri-net-based tool to rapidly develop a task execution module in the equipment controller for distributed shop ...

Component-based Development Framework of a Distributed Shop Floor Control System

The control and function architectures of a shop floor control system (SFCS) have been widely studied in academia. However, it is difficult to develop the system directly from such architectures, since their contexts and scopes are different in terms of applied shop floor and operating strategies. Therefore, an efficient development framework should be defined for every domain-specific shop flo...

CORBA-based integration framework for distributed shop floor control⋆

Distributed shop floor control is likely to become a key component of 21st century manufacturing technology. The interest in distributed control arises from the promise of increased flexibility, reliability, and tolerance to the uncertainty that exists in the shop floor environment. However, the communicational complexities involved in the integration of distributed equipment controllers have l...
